The Chairman of Tolu Oriyomi and Folusho Adeola Foundation, (T.O.F.A.F) Chief Tolu Oriyomi, on sunday, said his foundation has offered quantum leap to improve the lives of the People in the society.
Chief Oriyomi, who gave the disclosure in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, stated that the foundation is positioned to help the less privilege in the society, noting that over hundreds of people have benefited from the Foundation.
According him, he said that the last medical service that was offered free was a unanimous decision of the foundation, Maintaining that the society is naive and myopic in health related matters.

Oriyomi Stated Further that umpteenth of people dies from non communicable disease such as high blood pressure and host of others.
His words: “The trustees decided to have a free medical services and that was why we, the foundation had it and the essence is that ordinarily, we found out that our people die of diseases that are preventable, non communicable, non infectious diseases like high blood pressure, high sugar level and the likes”.

“So the foundation decided to touch the people’s lives because many people go about without knowing they have these issues, they don’t know they have high blood pressure, high sugar level, high cholesterol”.
“So we thought that bringing awareness to people, letting them know that there is no cure for what they have, but it can be managed, because to the society. If someone dies of high blood pressure, they will say that maybe a witch has killed the person.”
“So we decided to do something about it and we know that malaria is very prevailent and in our society, people abuse malaria drugs so much that if they have malaria, it must be injection, body ache or high temperature, they believe it’s malaria”.

“The foundation have brought the awareness that one has to be tested to know if there is malaria parasite, we tested almost everybody that came, but the most surprising things is that the number of people that came were tested positive for malaria, this was very significant which means people get dangerous for malaria”.
“we are happy that the foundation have been able to bring such awareness. It is important to go for blood screening first before taking malaria drugs. there are some people that their blood pressure is very high and the sugar level too.”

“What we do is to revisit those people to know how far they are doing and the foundation have decided to make the test an annual program and we hope to expand it in future and move it to other areas”.
Going Down the memory lane, the Chairman said some students have benefited bursary from the foundation last year, adding that 20 students from Emmanuel Anglican Church were picked.
However, Oriyomi, said the foundation is unconnected from politics, maintaining that TOFA’s Mission is to touch the lives of the less privilege.
