Residents of Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, were thrown into shock after a commercial motorcyclist, identified as Isah Ibrahim, was discovered dead inside a well located behind the stadium along Okitipupa Road.
Findings revealed that the victim was attacked by unidentified persons who also carted away his red Bajaj motorcycle.
His remains were later recovered from the well, causing tension in the community.
According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers killed him and disposed of his body in the well.
“The incident occurred after the motorcyclist carried a passenger to the area.
“The assailants allegedly killed him and threw his body into the well. The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, but it is suspected to be a case of motorcycle snatching, which has been on the rise in the area,” the source narrated.
A security source confirmed the occurrence, adding that detectives had begun a manhunt for the perpetrators.
The killing has triggered anxiety among commercial motorcyclists in the town, many of whom expressed worry over recurring attacks on their colleagues while on duty.
