Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State cast his vote on Saturday at Polling Unit 002, Ita Osanyin, Iperu Ward 3, during the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North federal constituency by-election. Following his vote, the governor commended the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission for its preparedness and the smooth conduct of the election.
Abiodun expressed satisfaction with the early arrival of electoral materials and noted a strong voter turnout. He acknowledged minor delays in some areas caused by the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines but said overall, the process was orderly and efficient.
“I have just exercised my franchise, and I am impressed with the early arrival of materials and the peaceful participation of voters,” he said. “INEC continues to improve its services year after year, ensuring that elections are well-managed. Everything is going on well.”
The by-election proceeded under calm conditions, reflecting the coordinated efforts of electoral officials and security agencies.
