The Chapel of Grace at the Ondo State Government House, Alagbaka, Akure, was filled with dignitaries, staff, and well-wishers on Sunday as the Acting Chairman of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS), Mr. Bayo Rojugbokan, held a special thanksgiving service.
The event was attended by management and staff of the agency, friends, family members, and political associates, who joined Rojugbokan and his family in celebrating what he described as a “five-in-one testimony.”
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who attended the service, spoke on the theme “In His Presence There Is Fullness of Joy” and led the opening prayer.
Delivering the sermon titled “The Ultimate Grace,” Pastor Oluwatobi Oke emphasized that greatness is not achieved by might or human strength but by the grace of God. “We must not ignore the dimensions of grace, as it is essential if you do not want to be stranded in life. Grace is required for greatness,” he said.
According to Pastor Oke, every grace has a source, and it can be misused or abused. He stressed that the ultimate source of grace is God, and remaining connected to Him is the only way to access and enjoy it fully. Citing Hebrews 4:16, he said, “No matter how knowledgeable a man may be, he needs ultimate grace.”
The cleric further explained that no earthly throne can be compared to the throne of grace because it is reserved for the King of Zion. He described the ultimate grace as sufficiency, noting that when God is involved in a person’s journey, there are no limitations.
Drawing from several biblical passages including Revelation 3:15, 1 Corinthians 15:10, and Titus 2:12, Pastor Oke urged believers to live godly and righteous lives. “You can’t be under grace and still be idle. God does not celebrate redundancy. Grace is found in Christ, not just in church, and any grace that does not point you to Christ is not grace,” he added.
In his testimony, Rojugbokan reflected on the significance of the month of August in his life, recalling that he got married in August, waited ten years before welcoming his first child in August, celebrates his birthday in August, was appointed into the agency in August, and assumed office in August a year ago.
“It is indeed a five-in-one testimony, and I return all the glory to God,” he said.
On behalf of the ODIRS staff, the Assistant Director of Personal Income Tax, Mr. Stephen Eniafe, congratulated Rojugbokan, describing him as an exceptional leader and thanking the governor for his continuous support of the agency.
He praised the Acting Chairman’s humility, proactive leadership, and listening ear, which he said had boosted staff morale and improved the state’s internally generated revenue despite economic challenges.
Staff members also marked Rojugbokan’s birthday and one-year anniversary in office, presenting him with gifts as part of the celebration.
The service concluded with special prayers from Pastor Oke for Rojugbokan, his family, and all well-wishers.
