Management of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company Plc (BEDC), on Sunday, commended the Federal Government for appointing Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu as Chief Medical Director(CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
BEDC’s Managing Director, Engr Jonathan Lawani in a statement in Benin, commended President Bola Tinubu for choice of Ize-Iyamu.
Lawani also congratulated Ize-Iyamu on becoming the hospital’s first female CMD, describing the appointment as historic.
He said her accomplishment was not only personal but also a testament to the faith, resilience, and visionary leadership that have defined her distinguished career.
Lawani, a former Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, added that her success reaffirmed that gender was no barrier to excellence or commitment to public service.
