The 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ondo State have jointly applauded Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering support in advocating for their constitutional recognition during the South-West Centre B public hearing organized by the House of Representatives Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution.
In a message of appreciation issued on Friday, July 18, the LCDAs praised the governor’s demand for their elevation to fully recognized local government areas in the First Schedule of the Constitution.
They described his intervention as a groundbreaking moment for grassroots governance and democratic representation in the state.
According to the statement, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s position reinforces his dedication to inclusive leadership and his vision of extending the reach of government to every part of the state.
The statement further acknowledged the governor’s advocacy for key national reforms, including the push for true federalism, resource control, and state policing.
The LCDAs said these demands reflect a deep sense of justice, patriotism, and foresight.
They pledged their continued support for the governor’s leadership and his efforts to build a constitutional framework that empowers all tiers of government and strengthens local administration.
