The leadership and operatives of the Bomadi and Ohoro units of Tantita Security Services have strongly condemned what they described as a wave of ethnically motivated attacks against High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and his company’s operations in Urhobo territories.
They alleged that certain Itsekiri leaders, driven by personal and political motives, are attempting to destabilize the patriotic efforts of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
Coordinator of the unit, Mr. Tupac Kelvin Ayemi, dismissed the ongoing narrative about ward delineation in Warri Federal Constituency, insisting it was a deceptive excuse masking a deeper agenda.
He said the true issue was the backlash from individuals whose illegal oil bunkering businesses had been dismantled by Tantita’s operations.
According to him, what is unfolding is a calculated move by disgruntled elements seeking to regroup and retaliate after their illicit empires were crippled.
Echoing similar sentiments, Comrade Awipi Lawson, the unit’s Secretary General, stated that those behind the smear campaign are individuals whose fortunes were built on crude oil theft and other illicit activities.
With their routes for illegal operations now blocked, he noted, these persons have turned to manipulating community structures like the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) to advance selfish objectives.
Public Relations Officer of the unit, Comrade Jackson Agbor, criticized the UPU’s recent position, questioning its sudden concern.
He recalled that the same body remained silent when thousands of Urhobo youths secured legitimate employment through Tantita.
He also questioned why the UPU failed to speak up when oil thieves were exploiting the region’s resources unchecked—until Tantita stepped in to protect national assets.
Treasurer of the unit, Comrade Bekes Pigha, expressed disappointment at what he called a deliberate attempt to stir ethnic division among groups that should be united in safeguarding the country’s economic backbone.
He said the achievements of Tantita under Tompolo’s leadership, particularly in fighting crude oil theft, are well-known and have earned national recognition.
Hon. Okilo Jack, the Organizing Secretary of the unit, urged the Federal Government and security agencies to disregard the antics of individuals hiding behind ethnic and communal platforms to push personal vendettas.
He warned that any attempt to revoke or manipulate Tantita’s surveillance contract would only serve to embolden criminal networks and jeopardize the country’s economic and security interests.
Adding his voice, Ambassador Okporu Augustine reaffirmed the unit’s full support for Tompolo and the mission of Tantita Security Services.
He said no level of blackmail, propaganda, or ethnic tension would derail the genuine efforts being made to sanitize oil-producing areas in the Niger Delta.
In conclusion, the Bomadi/Ohoro Tantita Unit called on those fanning ethnic tensions and sponsoring underhanded campaigns to desist immediately, warning that such actions are not only counterproductive but dangerous.
They emphasized that the time has come for unity, not division, especially in matters that concern the security and economic stability of the nation.
