Two suspected members of Neo Black Africa a.k.a Freedom Fighter, Christian Chukwudi Udanoh, 35 and Olamilekan Lawal, 40, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly shooting 23-year old Dickson Victor to death in a popular restaurant.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on the 8th day of March, 2025, at the popular Our House Restaurant & Bar, Abule Ado, Satellite Town, at Agric, opposite Army Barracks, Ojo area of Lagos.
The cause of the disagreement was not disclosed by the Police. The Police alleged that the suspects trailed the victim to where he went to eat, attacked and shot him.
After the attack, the victim was rushed to an undisclosed hospital and the Doctors confirmed him dead. The corpse was deposited at the mortuary for autopsy reports.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspects were arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos, for investigation over the allegations.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Christian Chukwudi Udanoh, 35 and Olamilekan Lawal,40 and others now at large, on the 8th day of March, 2025, at about 05:00pm at Agric, Opposite Army Barracks, Ojo, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: murder and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 233 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That, you, Christian Chukwudi Udanoh and Olamilekan Lawal and others now at large, on the 8th day of March, 2025, at about 0900hrs, at Our House Restaurant & Bar, Abule Ado, Satellite Town, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Dickson Victor ‘m’ aged 23 years by shooting him with a fabricated pistol and hitting him with an axe and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 223 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Christian Chukwudi Udanoh and Olamilekan Lawal and others now at large, on the 8th day of March, 2025 at about 0900hrs, at Our House Restaurant & Bar, Abule Ado, Satellite Town, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, were found to be members of an unlawful society known as Neo Black Africa a.k.a Freedom Fighter and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 42(1) of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, Christian Chukwudi Udanoh and Olamilekan Lawal and others now at large, on the 8th day of March, 2025 at about 0900hrs, at Our House Restaurant & Bar, Abule Ado, Satellite Town, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did have in your possession a fabricated firearm (pistol) and two cartridges without lawful authority and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 4 of firearms Act, Cap F28, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2002.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. F.M. Kayode-Alamu, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
