The National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, has commended the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for bringing joy to the people of Sagbokoji, an island community in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Ezisi made the remarks shortly after the commissioning of the newly renovated Local Authority Nursery and Primary School and the Sagbokoji Primary Health Centre, projects carried out by Apapa Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, of the Nigerian Customs Service.
His excitement was evident as he spoke about the significant impact of these developments on the community.
The NAGAFF President expressed confidence in the leadership of CAC Babatunde Olomu, noting that this is the first time such community projects have been commissioned in Lagos State under the Apapa Command’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
“Basic amenities are vital for any community, particularly those in rural areas that lack essential services such as education, healthcare, and electricity,” Ezisi stated.
He highlighted that the newly renovated health centre will save countless lives, while the upgraded school will help improve society, emphasizing that education is the foundation of every community.
Ezisi also encouraged other Customs Area Controllers to follow Olomu’s example, stressing that many surrounding island communities in Lagos State are facing significant hardships and urgently need attention from both government and relevant authorities.
In addition to the renovations, the CAC extended his support by providing bags, writing materials, textbooks for the pupils, and various health equipment and medications for the health centre—efforts that Ezisi described as highly commendable.
