The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has approved a two-step salary increase for the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the institution’s Printing and Publishing Press Limited, Dr. Mathias Sunday.
The approval, contained in a commendation letter dated August 13, 2025, was signed by the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka Icha, and made available to journalists by the university’s Public Relations Unit. The increment is to take effect from September 2025.
Mrs. Icha explained that the gesture was in recognition of Dr. Sunday’s “outstanding service delivery” and aimed at motivating him to sustain his record of excellence.
Describing the increment as a token of appreciation, the Registrar stressed that Dr. Sunday’s performance had been “exceptional” while commending his “dedication, and consistent delivery of excellent results.”
The university also acknowledged that Dr. Sunday’s “commitment, professionalism, and positive attitude had significantly contributed to the progress of the Unical Printing Press and the University as a whole.”
