Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, a former member of the House of Representatives and influential leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has called on party members to unite and support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration to ensure resounding victories for the APC in forthcoming elections.
The call comes against the backdrop of rising internal rivalry and what Kolawole described as unnecessary counter-media attacks, which he warned could undermine party cohesion and stability.
According to him, “Governor Aiyedatiwa and his administration’s ‘Our Ease’ agenda have already begun to yield positive results. We are witnessing road construction and dualization projects across the state. The welfare of the people and the workforce has been given priority. The education and health sectors have been better repositioned, and the governor’s leadership style is already attracting direct foreign investment.”
Kolawole emphasized the importance of loyalty among party members, urging them to avoid actions that could create divisions within the APC.
“What we need now is unity. We cannot continue to fan the embers of discord and disunity. We must remember what the symbol of our party, the broom, represents: united we stand, divided we fall.”
In addition, Kolawole reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu, commending the President’s economic policies and reforms as evidence of a leader determined to uplift his people.
In a statement titled “Political Aspirations and the Need for Patience” issued on Sunday, he expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, while calling on politicians to exercise restraint and avoid overheating the political space.
“We are all politicians with ambitions and aspirations, but we must be patient with our elected leaders. We should allow them to focus on governance – that is the only way the people we serve will fully benefit,” he remarked.
