Senator Jide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, has met with all 72 ward councillors across the six local government areas of the district, urging closer collaboration to drive grassroots development.
At the meeting, held over the weekend, the lawmaker highlighted his interventions in education, healthcare, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and youth empowerment, stressing that his programmes were designed to improve the lives of people across the district.
Senator Ipinsagba told the councillors that representation must go beyond reporting achievements, insisting that effective governance requires synergy between every layer of leadership.
He pledged to carry the councillors along in his projects to ensure inclusiveness and accountability.
According to him, councillors, being the closest elected officials to the people, must not be left out in the planning and execution of programmes that affect their communities.
He maintained that their input would strengthen participatory governance and ensure sustainability of developmental efforts.
The lawmaker assured that his office would continue to liaise with stakeholders across the senatorial district to ensure equitable distribution of federal interventions and opportunities.
Speaking on behalf of the councillors, the Coordinator in Ondo North Senatorial District, Hon. Kolade Akande, commended Senator Ipinsagba for convening the meeting, describing it as unprecedented.
Akande pledged the councillors’ full support for the Senator, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the EASE mandate of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The meeting was also attended by political leaders from across Ondo North Senatorial District.
