The Orashi National Congress (ONC), under the leadership of its President General, Ambassador Emeni Ibe JP, AP, has extended warm congratulations to the newly elected Local Government Chairmen and Councillors of the four Local Government Areas (LGAs) that make up the Orashi region of Rivers State.
In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Amb. Ibe described the victory of the newly elected leaders as not just a personal success, but a collective mandate from the people of Orashi. According to him, the outcome of the elections is a “clear testament to the confidence reposed in their leadership capacity, vision, and commitment to grassroots development”.
The ONC President General further noted that the people of Orashi have entrusted the Chairmen and Councillors with the responsibility to uphold democratic values, deliver people-oriented policies, and ensure inclusive representation across the wards and LGAs.
“We are confident that this new tenure will bring about progressive initiatives, inclusiveness, and effective representation that will strengthen democratic structures in Orashi region and consolidate the dividends of democracy for our people,” Amb. Ibe stated.
He urged the elected leaders to see their mandate as a call to service, emphasizing accountability, justice, and people-driven governance as guiding principles for their administration.
The Orashi National Congress, a foremost socio-cultural and advocacy body in the region, reaffirmed its readiness to work in synergy with the newly elected officials in advancing development, peace, and unity within the Orashi communities.
