This year, the total number of seats has been increased to 51,952, up from 44,968 last year. The results of the state Joint Entrance Examination were published on August 22, with 100,502 students clearing the exam. The counselling will be held in two phases.
The seat matrix notified by the Board outlines the criteria for admission in different streams. Candidates who have cleared the examination can register their names on the Board’s website https://wbjeeb.in/ and choose the college of their choice based on their ranking. This registration process will continue until September 1, and any change in the choice of institution can be locked by the same date.
The seat allotment for the first round of counselling will be declared on September 3. Admissions and reporting to the respective colleges, with the requisite documents, will take place between September 3 and 7. The results of the second round of counselling will be announced on September 9, and admission and reporting with documents in the concerned colleges should be done between September 9 and 11.
