Customs, CDCFIB Strengthen Synergy for National Security
The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s (NCS) commitment to strengthening collaboration with agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), describing cooperation and shared facilities as key drivers of national security.
Adeniyi made this known on Thursday, August 21, 2025, when he received the leadership of CDCFIB on a courtesy visit to the Customs Headquarters in Abuja.
Highlighting existing areas of cooperation, the Customs boss noted that facilities of the Service have continued to support the operations of sister agencies.
“In Ibadan, we have a five-storey building where two floors are dedicated to Immigration and the Correctional Service. In Kano, our facilities have hosted Immigration recruitment exercises, while in Bauchi, a wing is set aside for our colleagues,” Adeniyi stated. “These examples underscore the enduring bond we share. Despite structural changes, we continue to work together and will sustain this collaboration.”
Earlier, the Secretary of CDCFIB, Major General AbdulMalik Jibril (rtd), congratulated Adeniyi on his tenure extension and lauded his contributions to Nigeria’s economy and security architecture.
“As Secretary to the Board of these four services, it is important to rekindle our relationship and strengthen synergy. Whenever the need arises, we must be able to approach one another. This visit is to consolidate our partnership and reinforce cooperation for national security,” Jibril said.
He explained that the renewed engagement seeks to deepen collaboration in training, recruitment, and operational support, in line with the Federal Government’s whole-of-society approach to security management.
