Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Thursday swore in Barrister Moses Atagher as his Chief of Staff and Justice Samson Itodo (Rtd.) as Chairman of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the sale and lease of government assets, companies, and markets.
The inauguration ceremony took place at Government House, Makurdi, where Governor Alia charged the commission to investigate moribund companies and markets at both state and local government levels.
Governor Alia described Barr. Atagher as a seasoned administrator whose experience in governance would strengthen the system. He urged him to remain fair, just, and compassionate in the performance of his duties.
The Governor also commended Justice Itodo’s reputation for firmness, accountability, and transparency, expressing confidence in his ability to manage the sensitive assignment facing the commission.
Barr. Atagher said he was honoured by the appointment, pledging complete loyalty to the Governor and calling on other appointees to show similar dedication.
Justice Itodo assured the Governor that the commission would execute its mandate diligently, regardless of any challenges that may arise.
Governor Alia prayed for divine guidance for the appointees and instructed them to carry out their responsibilities in the best interests of the state.
