Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has commiserated with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on the passing of his father, who died on Monday night at the age of 83.
In a condolence message issued in Lokoja on Tuesday, Bello described the late patriarch as a moral compass, wise guide, and stabilising force who played a pivotal role in shaping Governor Ododo’s character and leadership style.
He noted that the late Alhaji Ododo’s quiet sacrifices, unassuming wisdom, and devotion to family and community values are evident in the governor’s integrity, humility, and commitment to service.
Bello urged the governor to find comfort in the enduring legacy of his father, encouraging him to continue leading with dignity, responsibility, and compassion.
He prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s shortcomings and for Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, while also asking God to give the Ododo family the strength to bear the loss.
The former governor assured Governor Ododo of his prayers and support during this period of mourning.
