A man has been arrested by the Ekiti State Police Command after a violent brawl over N4,000 led to the death of another resident in Ado-Ekiti.
The incident happened on Friday, August 15, at Uso community along Ado-Afao Road. The fight involved a man identified simply as Michael, whose full details are yet to be confirmed, and 26-year-old John Dindul Selbol, from Langtang Local Government Area of Plateau State.
As reported by Daily Post, witnesses said the argument turned into a fierce fight around 10:30 p.m., leaving both men seriously injured.
Michael was taken to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, where he was confirmed dead. His body has been deposited in the hospital morgue for autopsy, while police also documented the crime scene.
Selbol, who was wounded during the clash, is currently receiving treatment under police watch in a hospital.
The Police Command said investigations are ongoing to unravel the full circumstances surrounding the killing.
