Voting has commenced smoothly in the Babura-Garki Federal Constituency by-election in Jigawa State, with a high turnout of voters recorded across several polling units.
Residents trooped out as early as 8:00 am to exercise their civic responsibility, with security agencies including the police, civil defence corps, immigration officials, and others stationed at polling units and strategic areas to ensure orderliness.
At polling units in Garki town, election officials were seen setting up materials on time, enabling voting to begin without delays. Polling officers confirmed that adequate arrangements were made for a seamless process.
Many voters expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election so far, describing it as peaceful and orderly.
The exercise drew the participation of prominent figures, including the Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, and the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Ahmad, who joined other residents in casting their votes.
Despite the buzz around the polls, commercial activities continued in parts of the constituency, as residents balanced daily routines with the electoral exercise.
