The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has taken formal steps to demand a criminal investigation and possible prosecution of renowned Fuji musician, King Wasiu Omogbolahan Olasunkanmi Adewale Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following his alleged involvement in an incident aboard a ValueJet aircraft.
In a statement signed by the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, and sighted by AFRIPOST, the agency disclosed that it had forwarded petitions to the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police.
The event, which occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, reportedly interfered with normal flight operations and triggered concerns regarding compliance with aviation safety rules.
“According to preliminary reports, during a scheduled ValueJet flight VK201, K1 De Ultimate was allegedly involved in actions that violate the Nigeria Civil Aviation regulations,” the statement read.
The NCAA emphasized that strict adherence to aviation laws must apply equally to all, irrespective of social status, and called for swift action in line with legal provisions.
“In a letter addressed to both the Attorney-General and the Inspector-General of Police, the NCAA called for a comprehensive criminal investigation and the initiation of appropriate prosecution in accordance with the provisions of the Nigeria Civil Aviation regulations (Nig. CARs) 2023 supra and all other applicable laws,” the statement continued.
Additionally, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, has advised the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to consider placing the artiste on a temporary No-Fly List while investigations are underway.
“This advisory is in line with global aviation standards that prioritize the safety of passengers, crew, and airline operations,” the NCAA noted.
The agency reiterated its zero-tolerance approach to conduct that undermines air travel safety and affirmed that all passengers must be held accountable under Nigerian aviation law.
