The Acting Chairman of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS), Mr. Bayo Rojugbokan, FCA, FCTI, has pledged his full support and collaboration with councillors from Ilaje Local Government to boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Rojugbokan gave the assurance on Thursday, July 31, 2025, while receiving the delegation of Ilaje councillors during a courtesy visit to the agency’s headquarters in Akure.
The visit, aimed at strengthening cooperation, aligned with the current administration’s “OUR EASE” development agenda, which prioritized institutional synergy and local engagement.
While addressing the delegation, the ODIRS chairman underscored the critical role of local governments in revenue mobilization.
He noted that every ward contributes significantly to enhancing tax compliance and expanding the state’s revenue base.
Rojugbokan expressed confidence in the agency’s readiness to support local government policies and programmes, ensuring effective implementation across the state.
In his response, the leader of the delegation and Chairman of the Ilaje Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Francis Omosule, reaffirmed the councillors’ commitment to working closely with ODIRS to improve IGR in the riverine communities.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing a shared commitment to a results-driven partnership for the sustainable development of Ondo State.
