President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) Adeyemi Olumode as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).
The appointment was announced on Wednesday by retired Maj.-Gen Abdulmalik Jubril, Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), following the upcoming retirement of the current CG, Abdulganiyu Jaji, on August 13 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
Jubril praised Jaji’s service and said Olumode’s appointment was based on merit, having completed all required in-service and command training both locally and internationally.
Olumode, who began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, has risen through the ranks and previously served as DCG in charge of Human Resources.
He is a fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
