Residents of Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State were thrown into a state of disbelief following the reported killing of a young man, Daniel, by his own brother, Emmanuel.
The disturbing incident, which reportedly took place on Monday evening around the Origbara River, has stirred anxiety and confusion within the community.
While the exact cause of the fatal altercation remains uncertain, locals say they are struggling to understand what could have provoked such a horrific act.
“Till now, we don’t know what actually transpired between them that could have led him to kill his stepbrother,” one resident said.
According to information gathered by our correspondent, the two men are the sons of a community-based police operative known locally as “Awilo.”
A police official, who asked not to be named, also confirmed the incident but declined to provide further details as investigation was still ongoing.
