Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has extended his congratulations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the emergence of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as the party’s new National Chairman.
Professor Yilwatda was nominated and unanimously confirmed by the APC’s National Executive Council (NEC) during its meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Prior to the NEC meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa, alongside other APC governors, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, where they deliberated on key national matters, including recent developments within the party.
Reacting to the outcome of Thursday’s meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa applauded the leadership of the APC for conducting a peaceful and consensus-driven process that led to Professor Yilwatda’s emergence.
He expressed confidence in Yilwatda’s capacity to reposition the party and lead it to future electoral successes.
According to the Governor, the decision marks a significant step forward for the APC and reflects the party’s renewed focus and unity under the leadership of President Tinubu.
Governor Aiyedatiwa described Yilwatda as a competent leader with the vision and energy to build on the achievements of his predecessor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
He commended President Tinubu’s consistent ability to identify and promote capable individuals to strategic leadership positions within the party.
He also pledged the full support of APC members in Ondo State for the new chairman, expressing optimism that Yilwatda’s leadership would bring renewed strength to the party and deliver positive outcomes for Nigerians.
