The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, has congratulated Prince Biyi Poroye on his recent appointment as Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).
In a statement issued by the university’s Directorate of Information, Protocol, and Public Relations on July 7, 2025, Prof. Ologunorisa described the appointment, made by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as a well-deserved recognition of Prince Poroye’s leadership qualities, experience, and commitment to the development of the state.
He expressed optimism that the new OSOPADEC chairman would bring his wealth of experience to bear in promoting sustainable development in the oil-producing areas of Ondo State.
The appointment, officially announced on June 6, 2025, by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, is part of the administration’s effort to reposition the commission in line with its OUR EASE Agenda aimed at improving the lives of people in the mandate areas.
Prince Poroye’s emergence has been widely applauded, with political stakeholders including former Ilaje Local Government Chairman, Hon. Banji B. Okunomo, and Vice Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government, Hon. Modimu Beauty Fayowole, describing the decision as strategic and reflective of the governor’s confidence in his ability to lead effectively.
The new chairman has pledged to uphold values of discipline, teamwork, and purpose-driven leadership as he assumes office. Staff of the commission have also expressed optimism about his leadership, welcoming him with high expectations for renewed development across the mandate areas.
