KalimNews, Kalimpong, June 24, 2025 : Ongoing heavy rainfall in the hilly regions has triggered landslides and fallen boulders along National Highway 10 (NH-10), severely affecting traffic flow. The most impacted areas include known landslide-prone locations such as Seti Jhora, Selfie Dara, Birik Dara, Likhubhir, Malli, Bhalu Khola, and other surrounding spots. As a result, travelers have been stuck in long traffic jams, facing significant delays.
The relentless weather conditions have left authorities scrambling to manage the situation, with debris from fallen rocks obstructing key stretches of the highway. In response, machinery from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has been deployed to clear the debris and restore normal traffic movement. However, given the unpredictable nature of the terrain and the persistent rain, the situation remains fluid.
To avoid further inconvenience, travelers are strongly advised to reconsider their journeys along NH-10 and explore alternative routes. Local authorities and police personnel have been actively managing the situation by regulating traffic flow at affected points. Passengers are urged to plan their travel accordingly, keeping in mind the challenging road conditions.
As of now, the situation is being closely monitored, and updates will follow.
