As part of the activities marking his first 100 days in office, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on Thursday commissioned the newly rehabilitated and asphalted Stadium/Hospital Road in Ondo City, within the Ondo West Local Government Area.
Describing the event as a major milestone, the Governor emphasized that the road project reflects his administration’s dedication to impactful governance and infrastructure renewal aimed at improving the lives of the people.
“This road goes beyond asphalt and concrete. It serves as a vital link to essential healthcare services and represents our commitment to delivering practical, people-oriented solutions,” Aiyedatiwa stated during the ceremony.
The upgraded road now ensures better access to important health institutions, including the General Hospital and the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex in Ondo, in addition to connecting surrounding neighborhoods and business areas.
Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that the road’s poor condition in the past often obstructed emergency medical access, particularly for ambulances. He described the intervention as both strategic and symbolic, highlighting its alignment with his administration’s “OUR EASE” development agenda, which prioritizes infrastructure, social services, and overall quality of life.
He commended the contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders for delivering the project successfully and also expressed gratitude to residents for their cooperation and patience during the construction period.
The Governor assured that more development projects would be unveiled in the coming months under his leadership, adding that his administration remains firmly committed to initiatives that drive inclusive growth and attract sustainable investment to Ondo State. He reaffirmed alignment with the federal government’s “Renewed Hope” framework led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Abiola Olawoye, praised Aiyedatiwa for taking decisive steps to close the infrastructure gap across the state.
