Dr. Sandra Duru, a U.S.-based activist and journalist, has alleged that suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan offered her the sum of N200 million to falsely accuse Senate President Godswill Akpabio of organ harvesting.
Speaking during a Facebook live broadcast on Thursday, Duru, popularly known as Prof. Mgbeke, disclosed that she had submitted evidence of phone conversations and call logs to authorities in the U.S. and other countries for forensic review.
These materials, she claimed, disprove the allegations of sexual harassment made by Natasha against Akpabio.
Duru displayed some of the messages and call logs during the session, countering Natasha’s assertion that the two had never spoken.
She accused the embattled Senator of trying to link Akpabio to the death of a young woman when her earlier claims of sexual misconduct failed to gain traction.
She urged international security agencies, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the Nigeria Police to investigate what she described as fabricated accusations and Natasha’s silence over the 2021 murder of a young woman named Umoren.
According to Duru, Natasha had privately admitted to having no evidence to support her sexual harassment claims and was instead focused on targeting influential men for political reasons.
Duru further alleged that Natasha believed Nigerians were easily deceived and called them “gullible and hungry.”
“She told me it was about bringing down the so-called ‘Yoruba government,’” Duru said, adding that Natasha mentioned being promised either the Kogi State governorship or the position of Minister of Petroleum if she succeeded in discrediting Akpabio.
Duru criticized the Senator’s character, describing her as arrogant, lacking humility, and morally compromised.
She claimed Natasha was on a mission to bring down prominent figures, regardless of the truth.
“The autopsy of the young woman who died in 2021 showed no evidence of organ harvesting,” she stated, questioning Natasha’s sudden claims years after the incident.
In her concluding remarks, Duru called on the authorities to hold Natasha accountable for her actions, insisting that such serious allegations should not be used as tools for political manipulation.
