Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vacated the Government House in Port Harcourt, departing with his family and security aides.
A source, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that the governor left the premises early Wednesday morning.
While security personnel around the area remain limited, the two Armoured Personnel Carriers stationed outside on Tuesday night are still in place, accompanied by a small number of operatives.
Despite the situation, daily activities continue undisturbed across Port Harcourt and its environs.
As of 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Vice Admiral Ibok-Étè Ibas (retd.), appointed by President Bola Tinubu to oversee the state during the six-month emergency rule, had yet to formally assume office.
However, preparations for his arrival were underway, with approximately 15 soldiers stationed within the Government House premises in anticipation of his takeover.
