Mojisola Meranda, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has dismissed speculations that she has resigned from her role.
Addressing the reports on Wednesday, her Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, stated, “The Speaker is in the office, and I am also in the office. I don’t know where this rumor is coming from,” during a chat with PUNCH Online.
The speculation gained traction after an unsigned letter, dated February 17, 2025, surfaced online, claiming Meranda had stepped down. However, a closer examination of the document showed that it lacked an official signature, raising doubts about its authenticity.
The Lagos Assembly has been in turmoil since the removal of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa by a majority of lawmakers, leading to ongoing leadership disputes.
