In a significant stride against vehicle theft, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) announced the recovery of 73 stolen vehicles across Nigeria in 2024. This achievement was made possible through the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Portal, an advanced system designed to enhance vehicle registration and tracking.

The Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, highlighted that these recoveries were the result of coordinated, intelligence-driven operations conducted in collaboration with other security agencies. The operations intercepted the stolen vehicles at the point of registration, preventing their integration into the system.
Mohammed praised the FRSC personnel for their exceptional bravery, professionalism, and dedication to duty. He emphasized the importance of accurate vehicle registration details, noting that proper documentation plays a crucial role in intelligence gathering and vehicle recovery. He urged vehicle owners to provide all necessary information during registration to aid in timely recoveries.
The Corps Marshal reiterated the FRSC’s commitment to making Nigerian roads safer and more secure. He called on the public to support the Corps’ efforts in crime prevention and road safety management, assuring Nigerians of a safer motoring environment as the FRSC continues to push the boundaries of excellence in road safety management and crash prevention.
