– Governor Pays Condolence Visit to Family, Pledges Support
The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has declared a three-day mourning period and prayers in honour of the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, who passed away on Saturday.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the family in Akure on Sunday, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the late Oluwatuyi as a remarkable public servant whose life was dedicated to impacting the people of Ondo State positively.
“Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi was a significant figure in the politics and governance of Ondo State. His contributions to the development of our state will always be remembered, and his legacy will remain indelible,” the Governor said.
The late SSG, fondly called “Tuykana,” passed away while receiving treatment in the hospital following a car accident.
Accompanied by members of the State Executive Council, Governor Aiyedatiwa commiserated with the wife and family of the deceased. He also connected via video call with the children of the late SSG, who are currently based abroad, to express his condolences personally.
The Governor praised Oluwatuyi’s virtues, describing him as a gentleman who exemplified humility and integrity in both his public and private life.
In the condolence register, Aiyedatiwa wrote: “Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, you came, you lived, you performed your God-given tasks, and you impacted lives. You have left us at a time we never expected, but God has called you home. May you find eternal rest in His bosom. Amen.”
The Governor assured the family of the government’s unwavering support during this challenging period and offered prayers for strength and comfort.
Special prayers were led by Pastor Ayoade Babalola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, for the family, the Akure community, and the state as a whole.
The three-day mourning period, from Sunday, January 5, to Tuesday, January 7, 2025, will include statewide prayers to honour the memory of the late Oluwatuyi.
